In Celebration

The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra is now in its sixth year and has already become a musical force to be reckoned with. Our programming and active education programs have been lauded by audiences and critics alike.

For your musical delight in 2019, we have created an outstanding series of programs – Madness & Confrontation, Mannheim Rocket and New Constellations. Explore our website to discover the historical insights and new perspectives we bring to Classical and Romantic repertoire. To achieve optimal enjoyment of our concert season we recommend hearing all three programs:

  • Madness & Confrontation commemorates the formation of the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra during performances of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Selections from the opera are combined with the Mozart Clarinet Concerto, and the program concludes with Beethoven’s monumental Fifth Symphony.

  • Mannheim Rocket is a flashback to the establishment of the Classical symphony by Mannheim School experts Franz Xaver Richter and Johann Stamitz, alongside Mozart’s “Turkish” Violin Concerto and culminating in the great G minor Symphony No.40.

  • New Constellations fast forwards to the 19th century with Mendelssohn’s String Octet and Brahms’ Serenade, both shining examples of chamber music written with symphonic dimensions.

To our incredibly generous donors, patrons and supporters, along with the government funding bodies – we are deeply grateful to you for enabling us to continue the high-quality work we do.

We look forward to celebrating our 2019 concert season with you.
